Arriving in Formentera with a rental boat from Ibiza is like discovering a new world: life seems calmer, the pace is slower. Beautiful white sand beaches and warm turquoise water, look like Caribbean beaches. These are some of Be Charter Ibiza's favorite beaches and restaurants in Formentera.
Espalmador – Ses Illetes – Cala Saona – Mitgjorn – Es Calo – Es Pujols
1. ESPALMADOR
- Distance from Marina Ibiza: 30 min by boat
- Size: 1 km of fine white sand
- Activities: Snorkeling through the crystal-clear waters and paddle surfing

Espalmador is a private island located in the north of the island of Formentera, but it is for public use. This is the perfect place to drop anchor and enjoy the warm, crystal-clear water and white sand.
The southern cove also has the Paseo de Es Trocators, a sandpit that connects Espalmador with Formentera itself. Some adventurers dare to cross the strait on foot that separates both islands, taking into account the sea currents in the area. The most convenient way to access Espalmador, however, is by renting a private boat.
It is an island that has absolutely nothing, that is why the air you breathe is total paradise. But it is full of biological wealth.
In the interior of the islet, you will find Bassa de s'Espalmador, the lagoon for mud baths, but this trend is forbidden because, in addition to putting in risk to the fauna of the area, it is a dangerous practice for visitors because it is stagnant water.
It is really easy and advisable to explore the rest of the island on foot to discover its corners and all the islets that surround it: Illa de Castelví, Illa de s'Alga, Illa de sa Torreta or Illa des Porcs and its symbolic En Pou lighthouse.
The conservation of this island is very important. Its great beauty is respected by everyone and it is not allowed to climb the dunes that cover the vast majority of the island. Enjoy this natural paradise.
2. SES ILLETTES
- Distance from Marina Ibiza: 40 min by boat
- Activities: Paddle surf and snorkel
- Restaurants: Juan y Andrea, El Pirata, Es Molí de Sal, El Tiburón, Beso Beach.

Ses Illetes is the beach located at the tip of Es Trucadors in Formentera, the point that allows you to cross to Espalmador. It can be very crowded, but it is also one of the prettiest on the island. The clear, calm water, white sand and wide variety of restaurants and beach clubs will not disappoint and make Illetes an ideal place to spend the day aboard one of our boats.
Afternoons never go unnoticed. The beach is almost entirely oriented towards the west, so the sunsets are another attraction for this beach. Whether you see it from the boat or from the beach, it is beautiful to be able to enjoy a good sunset.
3. CALA SAONA
- Distance: 45 min by boat
- Activities: Paddle surf, snorkelling
- Services: Hammocks and umbrellas, lifeguards and restaurants
- Restaurants: Sol, Chacala and Hotel Cala Saona

Cala Saona, located on the West Coast, is one of the beaches with the most impressive sunset views. In addition, it is beautiful and the only relatively large cove on the island. Despite the hotel and some nearby restaurants, Cala Saona is very quiet, with white sand and crystal clear water perfect for snorkeling.
It is also a perfect place to anchor the boat, as it is a very quiet place for the boat, and we recommend that you visit the Punta Rasa caves, they can only be accessed by boat. It's 10-15more min sailing but it's priceless.
4. MIGJORN BEACH
- Distance: 1.15h by boat
- Activities: Paddle surf, kayak, windsurf
- Services: Hammocks and umbrellas, lifeguards and restaurants
- Restaurants: Es Codol Foradat, Casa Formentera, Blue bar, Kiosko 62

Migjorn beach is the longest beach on the island. It covers the entire south of the island and is accessed through a series of wooden paths that start in different places and from different beach bars or can also be accessed by boat, of course. It's perfect if you are looking for more privacy, as you can find more isolated and less crowded areas if you go by boat. Because it's the furthest part of Formentera if you go by boat, due to longer sailing and fuel consumption is higher.
5. ES CALÓ
- Distance: 55 min by boat
- Activities: Paddle surf, snorkelling
- Amenities: Restaurants
- Restaurants: Es Caló

Ses Platgetes des Caló are some of the most impressive beaches and coves in Formentera. They are small beaches with white sand, crystal clear water and few people. They are in the eastern part of Formentera.
Also, it is a good place to go boating, since there are few boats there. The place in the photo can only be accessed by boat, it is right next to Es Caló.

6. ES PUJOLS
- Distance: 40 min by boat
- Activities: Paddle surf
- Services: Hammocks, umbrellas and restaurants
- Restaurants: Chezz Gerdi, Fandango

Es Pujols is a good option with a wide variety of facilities such as restaurants, hammocks and places to party. It is a very beautiful beach with crystal clear water, but it is a larger beach with more people compared to others, since it is in front of the town.
It is an incredible place to go by sea, since you can go to the restaurants with their service. Or you can simply stay on board enjoying the day. Next to Es Pujols you can go to Punta Prima, it is a place that can only be accessed by stairs or by boat.
