Formentera is an island with a thousand charms and one of them could be considered its caves.
Here we are going to show you our favourite and what our route will be like from Ibiza passing through Cala Saona until we reach the Punta Rasa Cave. Shall we go?
We will leave the port of Ibiza and head towards the neighbouring island on a trip to which we can enjoy the beauty of the island.
We will pass through Espalmador, Illetes... while you enjoy its crystalline waters and the treasures that nature gives us. Entering the west of the island we will reach Cala Saona, a mandatory stop.
Cala Saona
With transparent waters and beautiful sandy bottoms, Cala Saona is ideal for anchoring the boat, it is sheltered from the easterly winds by the small reddish rock cliffs that form the coast. Here you can enjoy its waters and cliffs with the paddle tennis equipment that we have on our boats.
Due to its orientation and the tranquillity that this cove enjoys, it is also one of the beaches chosen by many visitors to enjoy an incredible sunset.
Once we have enjoyed the jewel of the western coast of Formentera, we will continue our trip surrounding the cliffs that surround Cala Saona.
Once anchored in front of the caves, you will have the opportunity to take your snorkelling equipment and enjoy the treasures under the sea and all the caves. This area can only be reached by boat. Here we leave you the selection of boats to rent in Ibiza and enjoy this incredible experience.
Here we can begin to see several caves that hide a great variety of animals and vegetation such as shrimp, groupers, manta rays...
We recommend that you be careful in these caves, since some have no exit and you could get lost. Without a doubt, if what you like is diving, the Punta Rasa caves also offer you the possibility of a fantastic dive.
This is an optimum dive for beginners (10-12m) although it is also a highly demanded dive by more expert divers due to the marvellous light contrasts and the galleries that form the caves.
Another option to visit these caves is with the paddle board equipment that you have if you book a boat with us or with a jetski.
